Saturday 6th May to Monday 8th May 23
As part of the celebrations for HM King Charles III Coronation we shall be running a Scarecrow Competition & Treasurer Hunt between Saturday 6th May and Monday 8th May 2023. Details are as follows-
SCARECROWS (Prize for the best 3 entries) Free to enter
- Build a Scarecrow or Scarecrows (maybe even consider a royal theme)
- Take a picture of your creations
- Register your entry by email to layerclerk@hotmail.com, making sure you include your name, address, contact details and a picture of your Scarecrow(s) which must be received by 30th April 23
- A walking map of where the Scarecrows are located will be produced.
- You will be asked to display a visible clue on your Scarecrow that the Treasure Hunters will need to find as they track each Scarecrow down.
- No later than 10am on Saturday 6th May 23 put your Scarecrow(s) out in your front garden ready for the Walking Trail Treasure Hunt which, will commence at midday and run until 4pm on Monday 8th May 23.
WALKING TRAIL & TREASURE HUNT MAP (a prize for all) £2 per Map
- Purchase a map which will be available from the village shop for £2 each.
- As a Treasure Hunter we need you to vote for your favourite 3 Scarecrows!
- Hunt down the Scarecrows and find their hidden letter.
- Once all Scarecrows & letters have been found, solve the puzzle at the end.
- Once completed return your map to the village shop by the end of the day on 8th May where a small reward awaits you.
- The best 3 Scarecrows will be announced on 9th May and awarded their prize.
