Queen Elizabeth Village Hall

In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, seventy years of service, having acceded to the throne on 6th February 1952 when Her Majesty was 25 years old.   Throughout the year, Her Majesty and members of the Royal Family will travel around the country to undertake a variety of engagements to mark this historic occasion culminating with the focal point of the Platinum Jubilee Weekend, an extended bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd through to Sunday 5th June 2022.

The Parish Council is looking for volunteers to join this committee,  to come with suggestions, to help research ideas and to be part of organising the parish event(s) over this extended bank holiday weekend.

Attended Freighters

The Borough Council are again organising “attended freighters” which are for the disposal of non-recyclable household items which you might ordinarily take to the tip. You can also take garden waste to be composted. They do not accept large loads, fridges, freezers or electrical goods. Also, no hazardous waste such as asbestos, batteries, liquids or gas. And no business waste.
These freighters will be in the village hall car park on the following Saturdays from 9.30am-10.45am.
